工工四

琉球音楽の独自の楽譜。登場は18世紀の後半、屋嘉比朝寄（1716〜1775）の時代。それまでは専ら口伝によって伝えられていたが、屋嘉比は中国の「工尺譜」を参考にして「工六四（クルルンシー）」という琉球の楽譜を創案した。
その後、楽聖・知念績高（1761〜1828）や野村流の祖・野村安趙（1805〜1871）らよる長年の心血注いだ改良により、現在の「工工四（くんくんしー）」となる。
工工四は、漢字で縦書きで音程を示すのではなく、弦を押さえる指使いを示している。
