石敢當について

石敢當

魔よけで、表面に「石敢當」と漢字で書かれた石碑や石標の名称。
沖縄では、街中を徘徊する魔物（マジムン）はまっすぐ直進する性質を持つため、T字路や三叉路にぶつかると向かいの家に入ってきてしまうと信じられている。その為、魔物を避けるために、あらかじめ魔物が入ってきてしまいそうなところに「石敢當」を建てる。
