首里織

首里王府の城下町として栄えた首里では、王府の貴族、士族用に色・柄ともに究極まで追求された、格調の高い、織物が特徴。
花倉織、絽織、首里花織、道頓堀織、手縞、綾の中、ムルドゥッチリ（総絣）の7種類を中心に受け継がれている。
その中でも特に「花倉織」や「道屯織」と呼ばれるものは、王家や貴族の専用とされており、首里でしか織られなかった唯一の技法であったので、当時から大変貴重なものであった。
